Robert L. Ward, age 90, died Monday December 8, 2008 at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. He retired from Western Kentucky Gas after 43 years as the district manager. He was a member of Shelbyville First Baptist Church, the Solomon Masonic Lodge #5, the Kiwanis Club in Shelbyville, and the Order of the Eastern Star Shelby Chapter 170.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie C. Ward of Shelbyville, daughter, Pat Ward of Simpsonville, grandchild, Stacey Sanford (Dale) of Shelbyville, and two great grandchildren, Sarah and Jack Sanford of Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday December 12, 2008 at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial is at Grove Hill Cemetery.
