Olando Jean "O.J." Simpson, 77 died Saturday at his home. He was a past administrator of Masonic Homes of Shelbyville, member of the Solomon Lodge #5 and Scottish Rite, Shelbyville Rotary Club and Christiansburg Baptist Church. He was presently serving on the Shelby County Board of Health.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Simpson, daughter, Lanette Harshman, Belfry, Montana; sons, James Simpson, Richmond; William Simpson, Lufkin, Texas; stepdaughter, Vanessa Purnell; stepson, Mark Tackett both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Jason Simpson, Denny Gene Fugate, Nerissa Sparkman, Michael Purnell, Katelyn Purnell, Cole Tackett and great grandson, Jarett Simpson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 17th at the Shannon Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Sturgeon and the Rev. Jesse Baxter officiating. Visitation is 3-9 P.M. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association.
