Chester J. Bemiss 76, of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away September 27, 2011, at HPH Hospice of Dade City, Fla. He was born November 27, 1934, in Shelby-ville, Ky. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After 20 years, he retired from the Shelby County Volunteer Fire Department as Chief. He was president of the Avion Recreational Vehicle Club Association. In 1984, he was a Master Mason in Solomon Lodge 5 in Shelbyville. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Zephyrhills. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Francis; son, David; and two brothers. Survivors include his beloved wife, Leota Roberts- Bemiss of Zephyrhills; and two stepsons. Visitation will take place 1-2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, at Hodges Family Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.
