William Dewey Beasey, 85, died Thursday, November 23rd in Shelbyville. He was born in LaFayette, Indiana and an industrial asbestos insulator. He was a 50-year member of the Solomon Masonic Lodge #51 and a member of the Shelbyville First Presybterian Church where he was an Elder Emeritus. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church Young-At-Heart, local V.F.W., the American Legion, and the National Asbestos Workers Local #51.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Paul Beasey and Harry Odell Beasey. He is survived by his wife, Norma Duncan Beasey of Shelbyville; his sons, Bill Beasey of Shelbyville, Jon Beasey of Cincinnati, OH, Dr. Matthew Beasey of Bristol, VA, and Mark Whitaker of Louisville; his daughters, Charlene Barnett of Louisville, Sue Coy of Shepherdsville, and Riza Kanzinger of Floyds Knobs, IN; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
