James E. Adcock, 95, died
Saturday, May 29th in
Shelbyville. He was a native of
Springfield, Tennessee and was
retired as an electrician from
the Barber Coleman Company. He
was a member of the Buffalo Lick
Baptist Church, a member and
past Master of Solomon Masonic
Lodge #5, a Shriner, and member
of the Scottish Rite. Mr. Adcock
was also a nationally known
handler of beagle hounds--some
of which were national field
trial champions.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Henry Thomas Adcock
and Willie Walcie Thompson
Adcock. He is survived by his
wife, Gary Nell Adcock of
Shelbyville; his son, Robert
Alan Adcock of Shelbyville; his
daughters, Martha Jane Adcock of
Lexington and Wanda Jeanette
Dismore of Portland, TN; his
sister, Lucille Burke of
Indianapolis, IN; and 4
grandchildren, 7 great
grandchildren, and 2 great great
grandchildren.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday
at the Shannon Funeral Home with
the Rev. Jeff Peed officiating.
Visitation: 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at
the funeral home. Burial: Bagdad
Cemetery. There will also be a
Masonic service 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday at the funeral home.
