Rules
of Order
1. When the Lodge shall be opened in due and
Ancient form, the business shall be taken up in the
following order, via:
A. The record of the last regular and
intervening meetings read and acted on.
B. Unfinished business called and acted
on.
C. Petitions received and referred.
D.
Reports of Committees on petitions
acted upon.
E. Reports from other Committees.
F. New business, resolutions and motions.
G. Work Provided, however, that the Lodge may at anytime
change the above order of business
at its option.
2.
It is the duty of the W. Master to
preserve order, and in all cases of a tie to cast the deciding
vote. He
may speak to points of order in preference to other members, and shall decide
all questions of
doubt as to law of order without debate, except by his
permission.
3.
He shall appoint all Committees, and
the same shall consist of three members, the first to act
as Chairman. Provided
the Lodge shall have power to elect any Committee by ballot or otherwise when
it
may on motion be deemed of sufficient importance, and such Committee may
consist of any number
desired, and may elect their own Chairman.
4.
He shall state all questions to the
Lodge after the same shall be regularly moved and announce
the result.
5.
He shall not participate in the
debate, in any other capacity than as Master for the Lodge, but
shall state all matters of fact within his knowledge and inform the Lodge on all
points of order, or the
course of proceeding when he may deem it necessary.
